Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel discusses his legacy in F1 saying all drivers are judged by their most recent results. There are very few drivers who can match Vettel's resume when it comes to absolute results. The German is a four-time world champion, with only Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton winning more championships. However, the former Ferrari driver has come in for some criticism after his stint at Ferrari, which failed to deliver the required outcome. "You're always judged on the last few results," Vettel told RacingNews365.com among others. "If you do well a few times, then you are the celebrated hero. But it can also be the case, as in my case, that you have more than fifty GP victories to your name and people characterize you as 'average'. But that's just how it is." The 53 time Grand Prix winner also described how all the greats are forgotten over time using Argentine legend Fangio as an example. "Ask a fifteen-year-old boy right now who Juan Manuel Fangio is and I think he'll have to owe you the answer," Vettel elaborated. "And that's a good thing too, because time doesn't stand still. That's also kind of healthy." "And then even with Fangio, I think you can talk about a much bigger legacy than any of us, not to mention the number of wins and successes. "So I'm pretty sure that if I said hello to Formula 1, I'd be forgotten pretty quickly. And that's okay." Vettel will be hoping that the Aston Martin Racing team can build on their strong foundation from 2020. The team are clearly on the rise which means Vettel has every chance of adding to his already illustrious history.
