Helmut Marko believes Max Verstappen holds an advantage over Lewis Hamilton in two key areas, though he believes the Mercedes driver's experience keeps things in balance. The two title rivals have split the opening two races in Bahrain and Italy, with the Red Bull driver coming out on top on Sunday in tricky conditions. Marko believes the Dutchman holds the advantage over the Mercedes driver in terms of speed and car control, though Hamilton's experience means the two drivers are evenly matched. "Verstappen is better in terms of speed and car control," Marko told F1 Insider. "In that area he is certainly ahead of Hamilton. "Lewis has more experience, which means that they currently keep each other in balance. Max is learning at every race. He is still in his early years. "Mistakes will therefore be made, but they will become less and less." As for the fight for the the championship, Marko believes it's a two-horse race given Verstappen and Hamilton are so far ahead the rest of the grid. "They will fight together to see who will be the world champion," Marko added. "They are level and lonely, well ahead of the rest. "If we can keep giving Max a car that can keep up with Mercedes, then he can do it. Either way, it will be a great fight."
