Lewis Hamilton feels people need to stop constantly criticising his teammate Valtteri Bottas, saying Mercedes have the best driver line-up on the 2021 Formula 1 grid. Bottas' performances have been under the spotlight with George Russell widely expected to join Mercedes in 2022. Hamilton believes Bottas is an excellent teammate whilst reiterating that both himself and Bottas won't be at Mercedes forever. "Valtteri just qualified on pole for the last race, it's only the fourth race. People need to give him a break and let him focus," Hamilton told RacingNews365.com and other select members of the press. "From what I've experienced from the relationship I have with with Valtteri, I think he's been an amazing teammate, as I've always said. "I feel like we have the best line-up currently, in terms of deliverables, in terms of the equilibrium that's within our team and the general knowledge in terms of moving our car forwards. "At some stage it's going to change, I'm not going to be here forever, Valtteri won't be here forever. Right now, I think we've delivered time and time again over the years and we will continue to." Mercedes currently lead the constructors' championship by 18 points ahead of Red Bull with Hamilton eight points clear of Max Verstappen in the drivers' championship.
