Hamilton: It will never come easy with this Mercedes

Mercedes finished the second practice on Friday one-two with Lewis Hamilton ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas. The Brit was pleased with his performance though he stated the W12 isn't an easy car to navigate.

Lewis Hamilton looked in fine form after topping the second practice session on Friday, but the Brit is taking nothing for granted ahead of qualifying on Saturday. The 36-year-old finished ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas as Mercedes look to carry the momentum that saw them finish first and third in Portugal. While Hamilton was pleased with how things went on Friday, he knows there is still more work to be done in order to find the right balance on the car. "It's been a good start to the weekend," Hamilton told Sky Sports after practice. "The track's awesome and we have a bounce similar to what we've had in the last race. It looks close, but it looks like we've got a decent pace today. "We have to work at it, it never comes easy. I don't think with this car that's ever going to be the case. But we understand the car and we know which direction we need to go balance wise, so we've made some tweaks along the way. "I don't know if we got better for this session necessarily, but there were some findings. So I'm hoping once we can analyse these two sessions that hopefully we can have a better set up for tomorrow."
