Christian Horner insists Red Bull's rear wing is legal following comments from Lewis Hamilton who described it as "bendy". Footage of Red Bull's rear wing shows it was flexing slightly which helps straight line speed. FIA rules state that moveable aerodynamic objects including the wings are not allowed. “Of course the car’s scrutineered thoroughly," Horner told RacingNews365.com and other select members of the press. "There’s pull back tests, there’s all kinds of different tests it has to pass. “The FIA are completely happy with the car, it’s passed all of those tests that are pretty stringent." Hamilton said after qualifying that Red Bull's rear wing was a clear advantage and that he could see the improvements it gave them on the straights. "The Red Bulls are really fast on the straights," said Hamilton. "They have this bendy wing on the back of their car which they put on today and they gained at least three tenths from this wing." Horner responded to Hamilton's verdict, suggesting Toto Wolff told him the seven-time world champion about the rear wing. "I was surprised to see his [Hamilton's] comments on that," said Horner "It's something that Toto mentioned to me previously so I doubt it was Lewis' opinion. It probably came from elsewhere."
