George Russell feels sorry for the FIA as he believes there is no clear solution to keep the drivers, fans and motorsport's governing bodies happy about track limits. Track limits were a major talking point at the Bahrain, Emilia Romagna and Portuguese Grand Prix with controversy surrounding Max Verstappen on multiple occasions. "It's very difficult and I do have sympathy for the FIA because it isn't a simple solution," Russell told RacingNews365.com and other select members of the press. "Ultimately, they are just trying to make the circuits safer and that is obviously the number one priority. "But it has come at a consequence of track limits over the course of these past few seasons. I think it goes further than just Formula 1. "Formula 1 can manage it very well with sensors and cameras but filtering down the junior categories, they don't have the resources to do that. "You can't tick all the boxes. You can't tick the boxes from safety, you can't tick the boxes for what's needed for motorbikes, for GT cars, as opposed to Formula 1 cars." During the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, team bosses met to try and find a solution to track limits . Due to the nature of the track, there were very few issues and that's set to be the case at the upcoming Monaco and Azerbaijan events. But, many drivers expect track limits to be a problem later in the season and Russell reckons it will take years to resolve. "Fundamentally, something needs to change globally with all of these circuits to find the right balance," said Russell. "I don't have the solution so that's why I sympathise. "There needs to almost be like a working group on this, to find that solution - not for next year, but it's, going to be for a few years down the line."
