Following the FIA's announcement about the introduction of stricter regulations regarding Red Bull Racing's flexible rear wing, Ferrari now also acknowledge to using this aerodynamic trick.

The latest saga between team bosses sees Christian Horner and Toto Wolff discuss the RB16B's flexible rear wing in Monaco. Both Wolff and McLaren team boss Zak Brown have raised objections to the so-called 'flexiwing' with the FIA, which has now announced stricter measures.

However, it now appears that Red Bull are not the only team to have made this design choice, Ferrari are using a similar rear wing and so now have to go back to the drawing board as well. "Yes, we are exploiting," team boss Mattia Binotto acknowledged to Motorsport.com"I think all the teams are exploiting somehow what's possible, and what we believe is right."

Small impact

"The [FIA] technical directive is clarifying furthermore, and we will need to slightly adapt," Binotto continued.

Despite this, Binotto does not see the adjustments having a major impact on the Scuderia's speed, something Christian Horner had previously emphasised: "I think it's impacting Ferrari, certainly on the lap time from what it seems very, very little. But there are some redesigns which need to be prepared to comply fully to the technical directive."
