Timo Glock is confident that Mercedes will deeply analyse what went wrong at the Monaco GP to bounce back stronger in the coming races. Lewis Hamilton had one of his worst F1 weekends since he joined Mercedes in 2013 whilst a pitstop blunder saw Valtteri Bottas' hopes of a podium crumble in a matter of seconds. Glock believes Monaco was a one-off for the world champions. "What matters now is how Mercedes will learn the lessons of this weekend," Glock wrote in his post-race Sky Sports column. "We know that Mercedes has always built a car that works on 90 percent of the racetracks. "But there are also rare circuits like in Monaco where Mercedes don't look quite as good, because the longer wheelbase on such tracks is a disadvantage. This was especially noticeable with Hamilton at the weekend. "But even in the case of Bottas, the team will deeply analyse everything as they have done in the past and come back stronger. Glock thinks that a key difference to other recent seasons is the competitiveness of Max Verstappen and Red Bull who took the lead of the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships on Sunday. "There is a difference compared to previous years. While Mercedes have always had a big cushion on the competition recently, Red Bull and Max Verstappen are now absolutely on par. This promises great excitement for the upcoming races.
