At Silverstone the British Grand Prix, which takes place in about a month from now, promises to be a big party. On Thursday it was confirmed that the circuit can use its full capacity, but Lewis Hamilton thinks it is still too early.

More and more fans welcome

More and more fans are welcome at the Grands Prix. In Great Britain they think they are ready to use the full capacity of Silverstone and welcome 140.000 fans on the day of the race. Hamilton admits he is still unsure if this is the right choice.

"I can't tell you how excited I am to see people, and to see the British crowd, because it is the best crowd of the whole year," Hamilton is quoted by Motorsport.com. The Mercedes driver admits he sorely missed the packed grandstands at his home race last year.

Hamilton has mixed feelings

"On the second, of course I watch the news and I hear about the cases going up in the UK. So on that side, I worry for people, naturally," the Briton continued. "It feels a bit premature to me."

Still, Hamilton tries to assume the positive and hopes the world can learn something from the Grand Prix. "But it's not my choice. People go there, I hope we learn something from it, and I hope people stay safe, keep their masks on."
