Lewis Hamilton finished in second place today at the Styrian Grand Prix, but it was a quiet race for the seven-time World Champion. He finished behind Max Verstappen come to the chequered flag and admitted after the race that "it was a bit of a lonely race."

Speaking to Mark Webber before the podium ceremony, Hamilton explained how Mercedes were unable to compete with the speed of the Red Bull.

"I was trying to keep up but the speed they have, they've obviously made some big improvements over the last couple of races and it's impossible to keep up.

"I don't know where we're losing all the time but I think their long-run looks to be a bit better. We lose a lot down the straights."

However, he still understands that it's not an awful day for the team, adding: "We got good points as a team today and we need to keep pushing."

Red Bull's four consecutive wins not an issue

Hamilton and Mercedes haven't won since Spain but according to the Brit, the growing momentum is not an issue. However, he does admit that changes should take place soon in order to stop the Austrian team from winning.

"I try not to concern myself. They're just faster. I've got to do the best job I can each weekend and we need to find some performance. We need an upgrade of some sort. We need to find some performance from somewhere."
