Ocon thinks there's something wrong with his car: 'Change as much as possible'

Esteban Ocon has had a tough time in recent races. Just when he signed a new contract with Alpine, Fernando Alonso suddenly seems to be a lot better than the Frenchman. Ocon himself points to the material.

Ocon has not been able to show what he would have liked in recent races. The Frenchman failed to finish Q1 in Austria, where his teammate twice had the speed for Q3 (in the second race he was held up by Sebastian Vettel). Ocon now wants to change parts of his car as he feels the gap can't be that big.

''It's difficult to give an answer to that question. We see a few things where we fall short. But it's hard to put your finger on it exactly. We also don't want to put any information out there about what it could possibly be, as it's hard enough to determine what it is,'' Ocon said opposite Motorsport.com when asked where the problem is.

''But at Silverstone, we want to start with a clean slate again. We will replace as many parts as possible on the car. Hopefully, we will then come back much stronger. There was definitely something not quite right and we need to find out what that was'', concludes the Frenchman.
