Carlos Sainz fell back in the sprint race at Silverstone after contact with George Russell. In the end the Spaniard finished eleventh, but it is possible that the Ferrari driver will receive a grid penalty. The same goes for Russell.

Both men have to go to the stewards to account for their behaviour during the sprint race. Russell will have to explain why he caused a collision with Sainz, while the latter will have to explain why he decided to return to the track in an unsafe way.

Possible penalty unknown

It remains to be seen how high the penalties will be. Obstructing someone in qualifying often results in a grid penalty of three places and causing a minor touch-up in the race often results in five seconds added to your time. But since these incidents have taken place it remains to be seen what the stewards will do.
