Lando Norris believes McLaren's strong start to the 2021 F1 season is a reward for all the hard work they've put in recently as he looks to add to his newly established all-time record for the Woking outfit. The Briton finished fourth last time out Silverstone, a result that saw him move atop the list of most consecutive points finishes by a McLaren driver. The previous mark of 14 was set by Fernando Alonso in 2014, and Norris stated that so far things have gone better than even McLaren could have planned for. "It's impressive," Norris told RacingNews365.com and other members of the media. "I guess it's a reward and a bonus of the work we've been putting in and the good results we've been having. "It's all part of it, obviously a lot of it's continued from last season already, but the best thing is so far this season, everything is going very well. "It's gone to plan, better than to plan a lot of the time, so we'll try keep it up." Norris says McLaren have shown they can be competitive at any track this season, and while he isn't sure what the gap to Red Bull and Mercedes will be in Hungary, he expects his team to continue to work hard. "I think we're competitive at every racetrack," Norris added. "Some we're just a little bit closer than others to Max, to the Red Bull guys, to Mercedes. "I guess some we can be a bit more confident that we're going to be able to maybe be around them in qualifying, or have a chance in a race like at the Red Bull Ring. But some tracks we kind of know that they're definitely gonna be ahead, but it's up and down. "Sometimes they're quicker than you think, or you're a little bit slower, so it's never good to presume too many things but we'll keep working hard."
