Horner: '85 per cent of the Netherlands has turned off their TVs'

Max Verstappen started his first two free practice sessions excellently. He immediately set the fastest time in the morning session, a couple of hours later he couldn't get any further than third place. The results are hopeful for the weekend.

After the free practice sessions in Hungary the discussion was mainly about the crash at Silverstone two weeks ago. Lewis Hamilton clipped Verstappen sending him into the wall, ending his race. Christian Horner still finds it incomprehensible what happened during the British Grand Prix.

Above all, the Red Bull team boss is happy that Verstappen is doing well. "It was a massive accident. It was 51G, it broke his seat," he stated in an interview with Ziggo Sport. "It is one of the biggest accidents we have seen with one of our cars. Obviously distroyed the car, but thankfully it did his job. All the safety systems worked exactly they should."

Horner is clear about the post-race celebration. "I understand that 85 percent of Holland turned off the tv's after the accident. So hopefully they didn't seen the celebration anyway. That is something subjected, isn't it? Would we have done that? I don't think so."
