Updated at 14.50pm CET: The initial forecast for the Hungarian Grand Prix may have been for a dry, hot, race, but the small chance of rain has turned into what seems like a near certainty as the race is imminent. With just fifteen minutes until lights out, clouds have moved in over the circuit and rain drops are falling. It's not yet heavy enough to be declared an officially wet start, but the drivers all starting the race on the intermediate tyres. As of now, the race will get underway with a standing start as normal. The predictions now are that the race will start with a threat of light rain, intensifying over the first hour of the Grand Prix before lightening away again. Hold onto your hats, this is going to be tense!

Storms have hit the Budapest area overnight, with heavy rain washing away the rubber from the Hungaroring to ensure a green track for the support race programme. However, that rain is set to dry out throughout the morning in the hours leading up to the main race. The Hungarian Grand Prix is set to be incredibly warm, with an air temperature of around 32 degrees celsius, similar to what was seen during the Friday free practice sessions. This is going to be very difficult on the tyres, which may push the strategies towards a two stop. Fans in the stands are encouraged to use a sunscreen and hat, as the sun is rated at a height of seven or eight out of 10. This means burning is possible within about ten minutes. While most likely to remain dry throughout, there is the chance that some rain showers could hit the circuit during the course of the Grand Prix. Whether there will be showers during the Hungaroring race is a bit uncertain. The chance of a shower is present, but quite small. A sudden weather change is possible, but whether the shower will pass over Budapest exactly during the race is still the question. Wind speeds will increase too at around 22km/h (14mp/h) during the Hungarian Grand Prix which begins at 15:00 CET (14:00 UK time).
