Norris and Perez won't restart Hungarian GP after Bottas crash

McLaren and Red Bull have confirmed their drivers won't restart the Hungarian Grand Prix after being hit from behind by Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas.

McLaren's Lando Norris and Red Bull's Sergio Perez won't be taking part in the restarted Hungarian Grand Prix, due to the level of their damage to their cars after being hit from behind by Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas at Turn 1. The Mercedes driver got his braking point wrong in the damp conditions, going into the back of Norris and sideswiping Perez in the incident. The damage to both cars is extensive enough to prevent them from restarting. A distraught Norris, speaking to Sky Sports F1, explained that he felt Bottas had tried a 'stupid' move into Turn 1 and deserved a harsh penalty, while Perez felt that the Finn had just been too audacious for the first lap.
