It is hurdle after hurdle for Zandvoort to be able to go ahead with the Dutch Grand Prix next weekend. After the restrictions from the Dutch cabinet have been known for a few weeks, today the court in Haarlem had to hear the summary proceedings concerning the environment. There is no verdict yet.

The verdict, according to the judge, will follow on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. The lawsuit was filed by Mobilisation for the Environment (MOB) which wants a Grand Prix without spectators. They feel that the activities around the Grand Prix are not logical given the nitrogen policy that is currently being applied in the Netherlands.

Judge understands both sides

According to the judge of Haarlem, both sides have a good point. Zandvoort would now, so shortly before the Grand Prix, find it difficult to organise any change in the situation. Especially towards the fans. But because the side of the environmental organisation is also understood, the judge wants to take the time to come to a decision.

This ruling will follow on Monday or Tuesday. So only then will we know if fans are actually allowed to attend the Grand Prix. Five days before the start of the Grand Prix weekend.
