The organisation of the Dutch Grand Prix is not without problems for Zandvoort. There have already been several lawsuits and summary proceedings, especially requested by environmental organisations, and the government also made an announcement by allowing only 66% capacity instead of 100%.

However, the preparations from Zandvoort itself are on schedule. This says circuit director Robert van Overdijk in the National Car Show podcast of BNR.

"Eventually we will be finished with our work after this weekend. So the grandstands are there, the tents are there, all the big structures are there. So after the weekend, FOM will come onto the site, and they'll be putting the final touches on it. It's just a lot of things.

Still uncertainty about fan presence

Last week there was another lawsuit, this time regarding the nitrogen policy and allowing the race to continue without fans. According to environmental organisation Mobilisation for the Environment (MOB) this is the middle ground that should be chosen.

The verdict is due on Monday or Tuesday from the judge in Haarlem. Then Zandvoort will know whether the grandstands are there for nothing or whether they can be used next weekend.
