The Dutch Grand Prix had an interesting Q1. Where Sebastian Vettel had to drop out, Sergio Pérez also had to settle for a poor starting position. In conversation with Sky Sports Christian Horner discussed the disappointment.

For Red Bull Racing's team boss, Pérez's lacklustre performance came as a surprise. "Unfortunately he lost some time coming out of the pitlane. He crossed the line a few seconds late," Horner explained the performance. "With 20/20 vision we should have sent him out. He missed the chequered flag by a second."

Battle between Hamilton and Verstappen

The Austrian racing team can therefore focus the remainder of qualifying on Max Verstappen who hopes to start at the front during the GP of the Netherlands. However, Horner realises that the times during free practice were already close together, meaning pole position is not easily achieved.

Horner is therefore working hard with the team to beat Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. "It will be very close with Mercedes. We know they are evenly matched. Max still has time in the car, but we will know soon."
