The Russian Grand Prix was not good enough for Gasly. He finished thirteenth after qualifying twelfth. The Alpha Tauri driver's motivation for this weekend has increased and he is ready for revenge at the Turkish Grand Prix.

"We missed a big opportunity in Russia and we were not able to express the best of our potential. Since then we have been trying to understand what didn't work so that we can fight more again, starting with Turkey," the Frenchman told Formulapassion.it.

Exciting and interesting track

Istanbul Park is a track that many drivers are looking forward to, especially since they didn't get to see the full potential of the track last year. The new asphalt made the track impossible to drive on in terms of grip and the wet asphalt during the race on Sunday made it a very different track than they had expected. Since then there have been several interventions to improve the tarmac.

"Last year was my first race in Istanbul: I liked the layout of the track, very technical and with interesting corners. Last year we had problems with grip, which made it difficult to tune the car, especially in wet conditions. We'll see, but in any case I'm looking forward to a circuit that's really fun to drive with different trajectories. I hope to be competitive and close the gap on Alpine, who are ahead of us in the standings," the 25-year-old told us.
