The Andretti family is in the market to take over the Sauber team. The name Alfa Romeo Racing would disappear from Formula 1 as well but the signatures have not been put on the papers yet. In all probability that will not happen during the Grand Prix weekend in the United States.

Andretti Autosport is very serious and the expectation is that it will happen, but we will have to be patient. That is what Motorsport-Total.com writes. According to the German medium Andretti had hoped to announce the deal one of these days.

Also delay announcement last F1 seat

Frederic Vasseur, Alfa Romeo's team principal, had hoped to announce who would drive alongside Valtteri Bottas next year at the end of September, but by now it is already the end of October. It seems that the troubles with the takeover have caused talks with candidates for the second seat to be put on hold.

With Nyck de Vries, Oscar Piastri, Antonio Giovinazzi and Guanyu Zhou there have been several candidates, but Colton Herta seems to have the best chances. Andretti is an American race team and they would be very happy to see a driver from the US driving in the pinnacle of motorsport.
