Toto Wolff is still shocked by the incident between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in Brazil. In the fourth corner the Brit tried to overtake from the outside but ended up outside the track. The race direction didn't think it was Verstappen's fault and a second investigation revealed nothing, which surprised the Mercedes team principal.

Wolff stressed in conversation with Motorsport.com that he found it a surprising statement. "What it says, in my opinion, is that you can launch yourself into the corner and take the other car out of the track with you," he states. "And that, of course, can lead back to more unsportsmanlike driving in the future. We don't want any nasty and messy situations on Sunday, in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, because that would not be good."

According to the Austrian, other drivers in Formula 1 are also shocked. "I think all the drivers who have spoken out have said that the decision was also a surprise for them. Of course you have to start adapting your driving style to the new situation, but it remains a surprise for everyone in the car and for us as well."

Exciting battle in Qatar

Verstappen will face a tough challenge at the Qatar Grand Prix. The Dutchman will start the race in second position, while Hamilton is one place ahead of him. It is therefore crucial for Verstappen to get off to a good start and overtake the seven-time world champion.
