The stewards played an important role in the events of the last Grands Prix. While Lewis Hamilton had to start from the back in Brazil, Max Verstappen was given a five-place grid penalty in Qatar. Who will take on this role in the Saudi Arabia GP?

Mercedes and Red Bull Racing have shown in recent races that in the current battle for the world championship a lot can be afforded. In Brazil, for example, the Austrian team tried to punish their competitor for cheating with the rear wing, while Mercedes tried to do the opposite earlier this season.

The FIA will therefore realise that they need stewards who are strong in their boots this weekend. As a result, the organisation came up with the following names: Garry Connelly, Silvia Bellot, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Hassan Al Abdali.

FIA comes up with interesting names

These are four familiar names within the Formula One world. Whereas Connelly decided to give Verstappen a penalty in Texas in 2017, Liuzzi himself was active in Formula 1 for many years. The 40-year-old Italian even drove for Verstappen's team for one year in 2005. In Saudi Arabia, however, he will be watching the possible incidents in and around the race without outside influences.
