Dakar Rally | Results of stage 1A

Today is the day: the 44th edition of the historic Dakar Rally has begun! This edition has twelve stages that will be held in Saudi Arabia. The first results of this legendary race are now in. The rally kicked off with a short prologue, after which the first long stage will take place on Sunday.

Results motorcycles

The two-wheelers kicked off the 44th edition of the Dakar Rally early. Daniel Sanders finished the prologue of the motorcycles as the fastest on behalf of the Gas Gas team and was too fast for Honda rider Pablo Quintanilla and Yamaha rider Ross Branch.

Results cars

Triple Dakar winner Nasser Al-Attiyah was the fastest to start the prologue. He completed the first short stage of nineteen kilometres in just over ten minutes. The Toyota driver was just too fast for Carlos Sainz Sr., who finished second on behalf of Audi. Toyota driver Henk Lategan completed the top three.

Results quads

In the first stage of the quads, Argentine Manuel Andujar crossed the finish line first. He was followed by the Frenchman Alexandre Giroud and the Chilean Giovanni Enrico.

Results SSV's

In the SSVs Marek Goczal was too fast for the rest of the field. The Polish rider won the prologue, beating his brother Machel Goczal. The Brazilian Rodrigo Luppi de Oliveira closed the top three.

Results trucks

The Russian team Kamaz finished the opening stage of the 44th Dakar Rally first. After the prologue, the first four places were occupied by the team. Eduard Nikolaev defeated defending champion Dmitry Sotnikov. Andrey Karginov and Anton Shibalov completed the top four. Ignacio Casale was the fastest non-Kamaz driver with his Tatra.
