Red Bull the car to beat in 2022? 'RB18 already faster than previous car'

The Spanish medium thinks Red Bull has the advantage since the biggest changes are in the chassis and aerodynamics, the specialty of top designer Newey. His designs usually excel in the twisty parts of circuits to the point where they can compete with Mercedes' superior horsepower.

According to experts, Red Bull will have to abandon the high rake philosophy for a flatter design. They estimate that this part of the floor and the rear axle provides between 75 and 85% of the performance.

The new cars for 2022 are said to be between three and five seconds slower at the start of the year, but Marca claims to have information showing that the new Red Bull Racing car is already faster in the simulator than the 2021 car.

That suggestion is underlined by the statements of Nico Hulkenberg, who has already tested the simulator version of the new car for Aston Martin. The German recently said that in his opinion the new cars are not necessarily slower than the previous generation. In addition, according to him, there is also no great difference in driving experience.
