Charles Leclerc has gotten behind the wheel of his F1-75 for an unannounced filming day with Ferrari, reports the Italian Autosprint. News that the Monza circuit would be under lock and key only reached the local media on Thursday evening, but that didn't stop a number of enthusiasts from making their way to the track.

Presumably, the Italian racing team is using the opportunity to optimize the planned updates for the Spanish Grand Prix by collecting as much data as possible. Earlier, team boss Mattia Binotto said he does not want to deploy the updates until "Ferrari is sure they work.

With the updates, the team hopes to get rid of porpoising once and for all, which still occasionally rears its head in the F1-75. It also hopes to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency. Possibly we are going to see the necessary adjustments to the floor, for which the Scuderia was recently in dispute after Carlos Sainz drove with a different specification during Pirelli's tire test.

The rules regarding filming days limit Ferrari to a maximum of one hundred kilometers, which is equivalent to less than twenty laps at Monza. In addition, the conditions are not entirely comparable to those of a normal Formula One weekend, in part because mandatory Pirelli 'demo' tires are used.
