George Russell has been the most consistent driver this season, finishing within the top five in every race this season, and has put himself in a strong position to continue his form.

"We still came home with a P4," states the young Brit in a conversation with Sky Sports after qualifying, before adding his confidence ahead of tomorrow's race. "Look, on Friday we had a better race car than the qualifying car so I think we have a chance against Ferrari, but Red Bull, especially Max, seemed a little bit faster than the rest. It's all to play for."

Russell admits qualifying could have been stronger

The Mercedes driver did admit that things could've gone better today however, "it wasn't actually our most perfect qualifying session because we didn't really have the tyres in the perfect window. I felt like there was more lap time on the table."

Porpoising not affecting the Mercedes driver

Mercedes have struggled all season with porpoising, however today, Russell didn't have any issues, much to his happiness. "I don't feel quite as fatigued after that session compared to what I am used to," he stated whilst laughing.
