Lewis Hamilton seemed to want to give up for a moment during the Spanish Grand Prix, but eventually drove back to fifth place. The Briton expressed his joy on Twitter after the race.

The Spanish GP seemed to be over quickly for Hamilton. The Mercedes driver found himself in the scramble and had a collision with Kevin Magnussen on the first lap. The Dane went round the outside of the Briton in turn four, but the Briton had not reckoned with that. Hamilton also had understeer, so both cars had to continue their way with damage.

Hamilton enjoys it again

Hamilton said on the board radio that in his opinion the team had better save the engine. Translation: "Wouldn't it be better to stop? The team disagreed and stated that P8 was still achievable. Hamilton then sat down and even reached a fourth place. He had to give up this position because of a problem with the water pressure.

''Yesterday was another day that reminded me just how much I love this sport. Going from your emotions hitting the floor to ending on a high is such a thrill. All of our hard work as a team is starting to pay off. Together we are making progress! Can’t wait for this weekend,'' the seven-time world champion said on his Twitter account. Next weekend, Hamilton will already be back in action at the Monaco Grand Prix.
