Pirelli have announced the tyre compound choices that they'll be bringing to rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship.
The Italian tyres manufacturers had already announced the tyres that would be used during the British Grand Prix weekend, next up on the calendar, but have now confirmed their choices for races in Austria, France and Hungary.
And for Austria, Pirelli have opted for a surprise selection with a set far softer than before. Last season, the C2, C3 and C4 tyres were chosen for the Austrian Grand Prix but for 2022 teams will run the softest three tyres available, the C3, C4, and C5. That should spice up strategy choices.
Pirelli caused no shocks with their compound selections for France and Hungary, however, with the C2, C3 and C4 tyres chosen for those race weekends.
Those choices are the same as last season - even though the tyres have moved from 13 inches to 18 inches in diameter.
