Sergio Perez was voted Driver of the Day by the international Formula 1 public after the British Grand Prix, but we are also curious about the opinion of GPblog readers. There are many more candidates who might deserve this 'title' for their strong performance.

Perez or Sainz?

Perez had an early collision with Charles Leclerc and had to come in for a new front wing. He dropped all the way to the back of the field, but the Mexican started a hard climb. In the end, there was no more than a second place, but it was a class performance.

The story of Carlos Sainz is well known. The Spaniard took his first pole position ever in Formula 1 on Saturday and he took his excellent form to Sunday. It looked as if he was going to leave Leclerc out in the race after team orders, but a Ferrari gaffe meant Sainz pulled ahead in the end. He was able to withstand the pressure from Perez and Hamilton after the restart.

Or is it Schumacher?

For Mick Schumacher it was also a very good day at Silverstone. The young German had not scored any points in his career in the premier class of motor sport, but that came to an end after almost a season and a half. He finished eighth and even challenged Max Verstappen for seventh. An excellent performance.

Furthermore, Lewis Hamilton (P3) and Fernando Alonso (P5) were of course excellent in the British GP. The same goes for Sebastian Vettel who managed to climb from the back of the grid to P9 in an Aston Martin that is not that competitive at all. Let us know in the poll who you think is the best driver!
