Mark Slade, a former engineer at McLaren and Renault, will join Haas as Kevin Magnussen's new race engineer from the Singapore Grand Prix. This reports Formula1.co.uk.

Slade worked at McLaren for almost two decades. He then moved to Enstone to join the then Renault, as we now know it under the name Alpine. There, he worked as Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen's race engineer when it was still the Lotus F1 Team. Moreover, Slade had previously worked with two-time world champion Mika Häkkinen at McLaren.

Unexpected turn of events

Now Slade is returning. This time at the US team as Kevin Magnussen's race engineer. The Dane suddenly got another race engineer at the Belgian Grand Prix, after Ed Regan will unexpectedly work from the office for the rest of the season, leaving the team at the end of this season. In the meantime, Dominic Haines assumed race engineer duties at the Spa, Zandvoort and Monza Grands Prix. Haines previously worked as race engineer for Romain Grosjean and Nikita Mazepin but was given a different role within the team which meant he did not travel with the team.
