Zhou wants to chase Hamilton: 'That’s definitely on the plan'

Lewis Hamilton is known in Formula 1, among other things, for his eye-catching attire during race weekends. Guanyu Zhou likes the way the seven-time world champion presents himself to the outside world and therefore uses him as an example for his own life, he told Crash.net.

"When I arrived in F1, I just really wanted to be myself, either on track or off track," he explained in the interview. "So that was what I tried to do. It’s great that now we have more people using their own clothes in the paddock."

Zhou is only in his first season in Formula 1, so he wants to use the coming period mainly to focus himself on his performance at Alfa Romeo. In time, however, the Chinese driver has other goals as well.

Indeed, where Hamilton has his own clothing line, Zhou wants to achieve the same. "That’s definitely on the plan in the future. Because I really want to make my own brand in the future, just purely fashion designing stuff," said the ambitious driver.

Earlier this week, Zhou revealed that he fully enjoys working with Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish driver experienced a good first year at Alfa Romeo, helping his teammate directly into Formula 1. However, Zhou still sees plenty of room for improvement.
