Mattia Binotto, according to Formu1a.uno meanwhile resigned from Ferrari. The Italian team boss no longer sees fit to lead the team in 2023 and therefore wants to leave. John Elkann, however, is said to be obstructionist for the time being.

After the summer break, Ferrari could soon forget about the world title, leaving Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz with little to compete for. Behind the scenes, according to the medium, things also continued to rumble. Binotto and chairman Elkann could not agree on several issues.

On top of that, rumours circulated in mid-November that Ferrari was out for Binotto's departure. It would not have done the mutual relations any good, so the team boss decided to get ahead of the troops and officially announce to Ferrari that he wants to leave. Elkann did not agree, however, and went for his resignation.

Interested teams want to bring in Binotto

It seems to be a matter of delay, however, as both Ferrari and Binotto are reportedly considering their options. Binotto is said to have several interested teams around him by now. Alpine, Aston Martin and another top team, for instance, are said to have already made a call. The next few months will have to reveal where Binotto's future lies.
