Ferrari a company 'without leadership': 'The situation is worrying'

Team boss Mattia Binotto has left Ferrari. The Italians must now look for a new team boss, but an announcement will not come until 2023. Finding a successor is apparently more difficult than expected. Luca Di Montezemolo, Ferrari's former chairman, finds the situation worrying.

After a difficult season, Binotto has resigned as Ferrari team boss. After four years as team boss, the Italian has to look for a new job. According to rumours, Binotto will remain active in Formula 1 with another team.

With Binotto's departure, more and more rumours about the Italian's replacement are also surfacing. Among others, Fred Vasseur, Franz Tost and Andreas Seidl have been mentioned as candidates, but Ferrari may also be looking internally for a solution. These include sporting director Laurent Mekies or Antonello Coletta, the man responsible for Ferrari's GT successes.

Di Monetezemolo is worried about Ferrari. According to the Italian businessman, the situation shows a lack of leadership. "For me, the situation that has arisen at Ferrari is very sad and worrying", Di Montezemolo says to FormulaPassion.it. "At times like this I prefer not to comment, because I really love Ferrari. I unfortunately get the impression that it is a company without leadership", the Italian concludes.
