McLaren became the fifth team to confirm their launch plans at the start of the New Year with the Woking-based outfit set to uveil its new challenger on February 13, on the same day as Aston Martin.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the British outfit have now confirmed that they will unveil their 2023 F1 car on February 13. It makes McLaren the fifth team to confirm its launch date ahead of the new season, following AlphaTauri (11 February), Aston Martin (13 February), Ferrari (14 February) and Alpine (16 February).

McLaren embraces new challenges ahead of the 2023 F1 season due to a tweaked driver line-up. Australian, multiple grand prix winner driver Daniel Ricciardo left the team after two difficult seasons with the British squad with former F3 and F2 champion fellow countryman Oscar Piastri taking over the second McLaren race seat.

Piastri will likely find himself in the centre of attention after the controversy around his contract with Alpine and McLaren that prompted FIA’s Contract Recognitions Board to launch an investigation into the legal matters of the case. The investgation then saw CRB eventually find in McLaren’s favour.

McLaren will embark on the new season with another key change following the shock departure of Team Principal Andreas Seidl. The German decided to leave McLaren in favour of Sauber where he will take on the role of CEO. Seidl's position will be occupied by former Racing Director Andrea Stella, who previously worked as engineer at Ferrari and was signed by McLaren when two-time world champion Fernando Alonso joined the British outfit back in 2015.
