Kimi Raikkonen is returning to NASCAR. The former Formula One driver will be in action at the Circuit of the Americas at the end of March with Trackhouse Racing's PROJECT91.

Raikkonen back in NASCAR

Raikkonen will participate in the NASCAR race in Austin, scheduled for Sunday 26 March. It is not his first participation in the class, for which the 43-year-old Finn has a distinct passion. Back in 2022, he entered the race at Watkins Glen, but a crash ended a promising race.

The 2007 F1 World Champion cannot wait to re-join his much-loved racing class. "I had a fantastic time in NASCAR," declared Raikkonen on the official website of Trackhouse Racing. "There was a lot to learn in a very short amount of time, but everyone was very helpful, the competition was a big challenge."

While the Watkins Glen circuit was new to the Finn, that is not the case for the Circuit of the Americas, where he won his last F1 race in 2018. "This time I get to race on a track I am familiar with so there won’t be as steep of a learning curve. I want to have fun, but also do as well as we can," Raikkonen said.
