Until Carlos Sainz signs a new deal, given how in demand his is as a driver in the world of Formula 1, more and more rumours will come out on the topic. Now, it is a believed that the winner of this year's Australian Grand Prix has been offered a high salary to join Audi.

Other teams interested in the driver currently driving for Ferrari include Red Bull Racing and Mercedes. However, Mercedes are still waiting for the possible arrival of Max Verstappen and Red Bull are also in talks with Sergio Perez about a possible contract extension.

'Audi offer Sainz mega salary'

Helmut Marko previously said Sainz's arrival would be a tricky story. Indeed, Audi could pay much more than the Austrian team. If the Spanish source is to be believed, that is indeed the case. Indeed, the team are said to have offered a salary of €26 million per season. This would make him, after Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, the highest-paid driver in Formula 1, although Charles Leclerc is also around that amount. The contract would also be valid for three more seasons, which would at least allow him to experience the first two seasons with the new engine regulations.

If Sainz decides to accept this offer, he will become Nico Hulkenberg's teammate. It was announced at the end of April that the German will switch to Stake F1 Team in 2025, which thus becomes Audi from 2026. There is no certainty about Sainz's future for now, but it is clear that his arrival is top priority at the German rental.
