Allison explains nose design

Lotus technical director James Allison has attempted to explain the new stepped nose design that is sweeping Formula One. Lotus unveiled their new car, the E 20, on Sunday and like three of the four other teams that have so far launched their 2012 cars, it features a nose which lowers dramatically at the front. As of yet, only McLaren have not yet used a step to lower the tip of the nose, which cannot be as high as last year due to new technical regulations.
