Jerez: Alonso hits the front
Ferrari put three days of low-key performances with their new F2012 behind them to storm to the top of the timesheet on the final day of the first day at Jerez. The aggressively-designed new challenger - which the Maranello outfit are placing a lot of confidence in to return them to winning ways consistently - hadn't yet set a time within a second and a half of the fastest time over the previous three days and on Thursday night their technical director Pat Fry admitted concern with where the team currently were at with the car.
