Mercedes AMG officially unveil W03
Mercedes AMG have today taken the wraps off of their 2012 car, dubbed W03. The team did perform a shakedown last Friday at Silverstone, but today marks the start of its official testing season. Together with all other teams, Mercedes will run its car in the next 4 days of Barcelona testing.
The new Mercedes features an interesting solution to the stepped nose, which instead of a flat upside has a very rounded first part of the nose. When the step is mandated, only the left and right side of the chassis is as high as the minimum height, creating two large bumps on each side of the chassis. The central part is therefore less obtrusive for airflow, contrary to solutions by Sauber of Ferrari....
