First Barcelona test summary
Last week all of the Formula One teams except HRT spent four days testing in sunny Barcelona. For most it was their second outing, but it was Marussia’s first track time of the year (in their 2011 car) and Mercedes’ first public test with their 2012 model. The variety of drivers who finished top of the timesheets suggested there was nothing to be gained from reading into laptimes. Day 1 The big story on day one came from the Lotus garage. The team identified a major flaw in the chassis and immediately arranged a new car to be flown out from the UK. Before the day was over, Lotus confirmed this replacement car also contained the same flaw an abandoned the test altogether....
