Alguersuari joins Pirelli testing line-up

Ex-Toro Rosso racer Jaime Alguersuari is to join Lucas di Grassi as an official test driver for Pirelli during the 2012 season, as the Italian firm enters its second year as Formula One tyre supplier. It’s the first time Pirelli will have two permanent F1 testers, after former Virgin racer Di Grassi carried out the role single-handedly last year.Both men will drive Pirelli’s latest test car - a 2010 Renault R30 - in four development tests this year at Jerez, Spa, Monza and Barcelona. The tests will be aimed at defining new tyre compounds and structures for 2013, as well as trying out compound developments that could be seen later this season.“I’m very happy indeed...
