Button sets the pace in second Barcelona practice

McLaren's Jenson Button took over at the top of the timesheets this afternoon in Barcelona, as preparations continued apace ahead of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Briton lapped the 4.655 km track in a time of 1m23.399s, beating this morning's fastest time by over a second as drivers tried out Pirelli's soft compound tyre for the first time this weekend. Conditions were sunny and hot for the duration of the ninety minutes, with ambient temperatures reaching an unseasonable high of 30°C during the session.
