Vettel streaks to dominant Montreal pole

Sebastian Vettel produced a dominant qualifying performance in Montreal on Saturday to commandingly secure pole position for tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The German went quickest in all three parts of qualifying, to add to his session-topping pace in final practice and take pole by more than three tenths of a second. So dominant was his performance that his first lap in Q3, a 1m13.905s, would have been good enough for pole without his second run, on which he improved to a 1m13.784s. A four tenths improvement by Hamilton on his second Q3 run could only yield a 1m14.087s though, but was still good enough to leapfrog Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who failed to lower his...
