Ecclestone backs second-hand car sales

Formula One commercial ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone said he would welcome the idea of smaller teams using older cars in a bid to keep future costs down and increase competition within the sport. Although Ecclestone has been sceptical about the idea of the 'big' teams running three cars, he has suggested an alternative could be to allow smaller teams to buy year-old cars from them. Ecclestone believes this would help small teams financially by removing the expense of designing and developing a new car, and help make the grid more competitive.
