McLaren sets record pit stop time
McLaren recorded the fastest pit stop time in Formula 1 history at the German Grand Prix on Sunday in a season which has seen the British team fumble in the area several times. Jenson Button’s second and final pit stop on lap 40 was phenomenally quick which put the Briton in the fight for the win at Hockenheim. “Although there’s previously been some negative talk about our pit stops, the boys did an unbelievable job,” Button said. “My fastest stop was a (stationary time of) 2.31 seconds - the blink of an eye.
