Ferrari’s V6 turbo engine on test bed
Ferrari has revealed that its turbocharged, 1.6-litre V6 engine is being tested at the company’s factory. The unit will come into competition in two seasons’ time, when Formula 1 moves into a new era for engines and energy recovery systems in 2014. “This is a very challenging period for our powertrain people,” Luca Marmorini, the Engine and Electronics Director at Ferrari, explains in a company video. “We are working on the 2012 powertrain and the rest of the season is very important.
