Red Bull: New DDRS not the only winning factor

Red Bull has dispelled claims that it only won the Japanese Grand Prix because of a new rear wing device which has improved the car’s straight-line speed. Debuted on the car in Singapore, the Lotus-like ‘Double DRS’ helps stall the rear wing and generate greater top speeds – an area in which Red Bull previously struggled. Having performed well this season on high-downforce circuits, such as Monaco and Valencia where Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel found themselves in controlling positions, Red Bull had been hindered when it came to top speeds.
