Kobayashi needs sponsors to secure future
A podium finish at his home race at the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend has not given Kamui Kobayashi a firm holding on his seat at Sauber for next season. Despite registering a career best result at Suzuka, the 26-year-old is seeking financial backing to continue in the sport next year, leaving him a bit surprised by the state of events. “At the moment I have no sponsors to be here. It's a very strange feeling,” Kobayashi was quoted saying by AFP. “Getting a sponsor is very important for the future.
