Vergne spins away Q1 chance
Jean-Eric Vergne failed to progress beyond the opening phase of qualifying for the eighth time this season after spinning at the final corner on his fastest lap.Although the Frenchman managed to get another lap in before time expired, it wasn't enough to overhaul Kamui Kobayashi, despite the Sauber man failing to use his final effort to better effect, and Vergne joined the usual bottom six, where Heikki Kovalainen led the way from Charles Pic and Caterham team-mate Vitaly Petrov.
